We are really looking forward to seeing you at the RTÉ Radio 1 Run with Ray in Buncrana.

REGISTRATION

Please arrive early to collect your run number and your Run with Ray t-shirt,  the registration desk will open at 4pm.

START TIME

The Run with Ray event will take place at 5:30pm and should finish up before 7pm.

The course

The course starts and ends at the Tip O’Neill monument in Buncrana. The 5km route is a mixture of tarmac paths, gravel paths and trail paths. This course is not suitable for buggies and pushchairs.

Parking

There is parking available in the surrounding area. Where possible, we suggest carpooling to the run location. We also ask that all of those using their cars to be mindful of residents and businesses in the area and to park responsibly.

BAG DROP

There is no bag drop available, so it is encouraged that you travel light and take any waste/empty bottles with you and bin responsibly. We encourage all participants to leave the park and its location as you have found it.

Tralee town park

The course

This is a largely flat course made up of just over 3 full laps of Tralee Town Park. Laps will be run in a clockwise direction. The run will start from the entrance closest to the Ashe Memorial Hall. There is an out and back section or dog leg on each lap which must be completed.

University of galway

The course

Two loops of the meadow to start, then turn right onto the riverside pathway for an out-and-back. Finish with one final loop of the meadow. This is a flat course on gravel pathways.

Athlone

Athlone Regional Sports Centre

The course

The course consists of two laps of the activity trail and a section of the Greenway run anticlockwise. The start and finish are at the Regional Sports Centre, beside the bike rack.

NAvan

Blackwater Park

The course

Blackwater Park is situated on a 28 hectare (66 acre) site at Abbeylands, Navan between the Wintown Road/Ratholdron Road and the river Blackwater. The course is 1.4 km circular lap, run anticlockwise. The course is all tarmac. You will complete 3 and a half laps to finish. You will start at approximately 400 yards into the park keeping to the left hand side of the park route, you will run around back of green area turning left towards pedestrian crossing, keep following tarmac all the way around the park until arriving back at start line, this completes 1 lap. You will finish in the green area at the top of the slight hill. You will see views of Navan Town Centre as well as old ruins of Elliott's furniture factory on the banks of Blackwater river, there is also a view of Tara Mines in the distance.

Friday 24th May

Dublin

MArlay park

The course

The course starts at the back of the park on the path between the lower college road car park and the childrens playground. The run starts downhill and takes two sharp right turns, leading to the first hill. A left turn at the top of the hill, around the golf course follows the perimeter path before a left turn across the centre of the football pitches which leads into the woods. The course then loops around the concert field and takes a left turn up a forest path on the opposite side. Once past the fairy tree, a right turn leads to the 4km marker. A right turn down the hill leads to two final left turns into the finish straight, finishing by the lower college road car park.
